Mixing mud is such a physical thing that if you don’t have somebody that you can apprentice yourself to who says, “It’s too soupy, it’s too tough, it’s too whatever,” you’re not going to be able to really do it within a range of rightness. So we still need a lot of apprenticeships. We can’t rely on abstract information coming in over the web or even through books. We need to get our hands dirty and plant our own seeds, and see what happens. In other words - go out and try something. Sure you may make a mistake - in the garden for example - but learn from your mistakes, grow, live and survive.
